Budgam, Mar 14 (KNO): Deputy Commissioner Budgam Syed Fakhruddin Hamid, who is also the District Magistrate, and SSP Budgam Tahir Geelani on Tuesday visited the family of a 30-year-old lady in this central Kashmir district, who was brutally murdered by a man a few days ago. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the DC, SSP and other officers visited the victim’s house and offered condolences to the grief-stricken family. The officers assured the family of all possible assistance and promised that justice would be served. Apart from the government officers, several other political leaders and social activists also visited the victim’s home. They requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for court trials on a fast-track basis and demanded capital punishment for the culprit. Meanwhile, protests continued for the third day against the “gruesome” killing. Degree College Budgam students conducted a peaceful protest against the “inhuman” murder. ‘When we leave home, we are told to take care of ourselves, but how can we be safe when there are such gut-wrenching incidents,” a girl student told KNO. “We want strict action against that beast who killed an innocent girl,” she added.
